Works great, saves water

In case you're wondering as I did Delta and Alsons both use this same technology. You can get a chrome version of this same shower head branded delta at Lowes.
I previously had the Delta 75155 1.6 GPM Water-Amplifying Showerhead, Chrome and wasn't entirely satisfied. It worked great close to the shower head for getting shampoo out of my hair, but when it came to rinsing soap off of my legs the spray had expanded to such a large radius that it was more of a mist and took a while to rinse.
This style however is much better. The 4 outlets distribute the water in much narrower radii compared to the single, such that it actually works well both close and far. I hardly have used the 2.5gpm flow feature as the 1.85gpm is more than adequate. Nobody is going to complain about this shower head. The 2.5gpm setting is like opening the flood gates and creates a great massaging shower, but the actual rinse really doesn't seem any different.
Installation was straight forward and easy. The rubber gasket sealed without any teflon tape. I added a soap up valve to it to further control the flow and save more water. I've since added an alsons diverter valve so I could add a handshower. All in the same matching finish.
In short this is a water saving shower head that works well. |
It's like standing at the wrong end of a carwash pressure washing wand

| All I have to say is: wow. I've purchased some random cheap "uses air to increase pressure" showerheads before, and always found them to be barely noticeable at best, but this is an entirely different beast. The pressure is so strong I can't even leave it on the 2.5 GPM setting for very long, and the 1.85 GPM setting is more than enough to get the job done. Even if you aren't trying to save water, this turns an otherwise poor shower into a great one. |
